Verification loop?

Submit, rejected, resubmit, rejected — the verification loop. This isn't about document quality anymore. The automated system itself is the problem: internal data conflicts from multiple attempts, backend flags routing you to manual review nobody processes, or verification provider issues.

Understanding Identity Verification

What Identity Verification means and how we fix it

Verification loops are systemic, not document-related. Three types: document quality (fixable), data conflict (requires system-level fix), and manual review routing (requires escalation). We identify which type and apply the correct fix.

Common triggers

Why identity verification fails or gets stuck

  • Document quality issues: Blurry photos, glare, partial visibility, wrong angle. Automated systems reject without human review if quality standards aren't met.
  • Name mismatches: Registration name doesn't match ID — nicknames, transliteration, name changes after marriage, dual-citizenship document differences.
  • SSN/credit bureau discrepancies: Coinbase-specific: SSN verified against credit bureau records. Old address, fraud alert, credit freeze, or data entry error causes indefinite rejection.
  • Retroactive KYC: Accounts registered before mandatory KYC have minimal or incorrect data. Now required to verify — mismatch with current documents.
  • Geographic routing: Registration in one country, access from another. The exchange's verification system may route you to the wrong entity's requirements.
  • Multiple failed attempts: Each failure adds conflicting data to your profile. After 3+ failures, exchanges may lock verification attempts entirely.
Legal framework

The right to human review

Automated identity verification systems have false rejection rates — they reject valid documents due to photo quality, lighting, algorithm limitations, or data conflicts. Under GDPR Article 22 (EU), you have the right to human review of automated decisions. Under US law, CFPB complaints can force exchanges to provide manual review. Every major exchange has human compliance officers who can override automated rejections, but accessing them requires going through the correct channels. Standard support tickets stay in the bot queue — they never reach compliance management. We submit through legal channels that reach compliance decision-makers directly. This has resolved verification loops that persisted for months — sometimes within days of our first submission. The key insight: automated systems are designed for efficiency, not fairness. When the system fails, you need a human — and getting to that human requires legal pressure, not more support tickets.

FAQ

Identity Verification questions

I've submitted correct documents multiple times — why does it keep failing?

After multiple failures, the automated system likely has conflicting data from your various attempts. Continued automated attempts will keep failing. You need manual review escalation to clear the conflicts.

Can I get manual verification on any exchange?

Most exchanges have manual verification but don't make it available through standard support. Professional legal requests can trigger manual review, bypassing the automated system.

Do you handle Identity Verification on all exchanges?

Yes — we handle Identity Verification across 21+ platforms including Binance, Bybit, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX, KuCoin, MEXC, HitBTC, CEX.IO, Crypto.com, Gate.io, HTX, Bitfinex, WhiteBit, Changelly, ChangeNow, FixedFloat, and stablecoin issuers (Tether, Circle). Each platform has different compliance processes, timelines, and documentation requirements. We tailor our approach to each.

How much does Identity Verification resolution cost?

Two options: Fixed fee from €399 (pay upfront, fixed scope) or Success fee (percentage of recovered amount, no upfront payment). Both include a free initial case assessment within 6 hours. No hidden fees, transparent agreement before we start. We only charge for successful outcomes on the success fee option.

Why does the automated system keep rejecting my valid documents?

Automated verification systems (Sumsub, Onfido, Jumio) have false rejection rates of 5-15%. They reject valid documents due to photo quality, lighting, glare, partial visibility, algorithm limitations, or data conflicts. The systems are designed for efficiency, not fairness. After 3+ failures, the exchange may lock verification attempts entirely, requiring support intervention.

Can I request human review instead of automated verification?

Yes. Under GDPR Article 22 (EU), you have the right to human review of automated decisions. Under US law, CFPB complaints can force exchanges to provide manual review. Every exchange has human compliance officers who can override automated rejections — but accessing them requires going through legal channels, not standard support tickets.

What if my documents are in a non-English language?

Most exchanges accept documents in English and the local language of your registered country. Documents in a third language typically require certified translation. Some exchanges (Binance, Kraken) are more flexible about document languages; others (Coinbase) are stricter. If your documents are in a language the exchange doesn't support, you'll need a certified translation before resubmitting. We can arrange certified translations if needed — do not submit machine translations, as they are routinely rejected.

How do I know if I'm in automated or manual verification?

Each exchange handles this differently. Kraken's automated CIP processes in under 30 minutes — if you haven't received a result in 30 minutes, you're in manual review. Binance's automated verification takes minutes to several hours — if it takes longer, you've been routed to manual. Coinbase's automated verification takes minutes — if no result, manual review. Unfortunately, no exchange explicitly tells you when you've transitioned from automated to manual. You simply wait. The only way to confirm your status is through support channel engagement, which is often slow. We can determine your status and, if in manual review, escalate through the appropriate channels.
